Luxury resort operator Soneva announced the introduction of Soneva Kiri’s newest experience, Koh Kood by Sea. The trip takes guest by speedboat along the coastline of Koh Kood, Thailand’s fourth largest and least populated island.
The five-hour experience starts at Soneva Kiri’s arrival jetty then follows the eastern shore of the island. Guests pass the Ao Salad fishing village, seeing brightly colored traditional Thai fishing boats and houses built on stilts. Along the way, passengers can ask the captain to stop for snorkeling or at any of the private bays along the coast. The experience also offers the opportunity for bird watching and spotting marine life.
At the last stop of the trip, Ao Yai, guests can visit a local Thai seafood restaurant that is owned and operated by a former chef of Soneva Kiri. The lunch menu includes fresh crab, prawns, squid and sea bass. Following lunch, the captain takes guests back to Soneva Kiri along the same route.
Soneva Kiri is located on the island of Koh Kood, southeast of Bangkok, towards the coast of Cambodia. The property consists of 34 villas overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, spread across the beach, hillsides and clifftops. The island is covered in lush rainforest and surrounded by cliffs, secluded bays and vibrantly blue water. With no airport on the island, guests can reach Koh Kood with Soneva’s private eight-seater aircraft, landing on a nearby airstrip and boating over.
