Located on the banks of the Russian River in Sonoma County, Dawn Ranch has played host to holidaymakers for over a century since opening in 1905. It started out as a dining hall with tented cabins and went on to claim the title of the first gay destination resort in California’s wine country, and was shut following 2019’s devastating flood. The property has announced its reopening for the summer as a full-service luxury resort for the first time in three years under the operation of Bridgeton Holdings.
The resort’s cabins provide an intimate escape for two with configurations ranging from intimate Petite Cabins to vintage Green Meadow Chalets. Two bungalows are also available offering full custom kitchens, two full baths and two queen bedrooms. All rooms sport natural cork or wood flooring, river rock showers and Le Labo bath amenities. The 15-acre riverfront resort also houses the restaurant Agriculture Public House, besides wedding and event spaces for up to 300 guests.
Guests can enjoy live music on the resort’s main lawn or indulge in a range of activities including yoga and meditation, sunset wine tastings, creative workshops and bird watching. They can also request for complimentary bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards.
Dawn Ranch’s on-site kitchen garden provides fresh herbs and vegetables to the restaurant, Agriculture Public House, which is open to both guests and locals alike. The bar offers an extensive wine list with products from local vineyards, besides local craft beers and specialty cocktails.
Bridgeton Holdings is offering travelers the best of the U.S. this summer with the launch of a “Coast to Coast” package—a week-long escape at Dawn Ranch and its sister property, Marram in Montauk, New York. Guests can enjoy three weekdays in Montauk coupled with four days at Dawn Ranch. The package includes credits at both properties’ food and beverage venues, a room upgrade, $100 food credit at both properties and in-room gifts.
