St. Regis Hotels & Resorts made its official debut in Kazakhstan when the ribbon was cut at the all-new, ultra-luxe St. Regis Astana, in the country’s eponymous capital city. The property aims to blend glamour, luxury and St. Regis service with the local Kazakhstani traditions, art and architecture.
Situated inside Astana’s Central Park, The St. Regis Astana serves as an oasis in the bustling downtown. Guests at the St. Regis Astana are within walking distance of several landmarks, such as the Bayterek Tower, Independence Square, the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center, the Astana Opera and many foreign embassies.
The hotel’s design draws inspiration from the horsemanship and nomadic culture of Kazakhstan. The layout of the courtyard evokes that of the indigenous yurt, and connects the hotel, hotel residences, retail center and offices. The interior combines modern and neoclassical elements with over 400 pieces of contemporary art created by both local and international artists. At the St. Regis Bar, patrons can look upon the hotel’s hallmark mural depicting the golden Samruk, a Phoenix-like bird important to Kazakhstani mythology.
The St. Regis Astana has 120 guestrooms and 23 suites, each of which have a private Juliette terrace overlooking Astana Park and the Ishim River. The Presidential Suite, measuring 510 square meters occupies the hotel’s top floor, complete with a study, drawing room, dining room, wine vault, bathroom with sauna, and a private outdoor terrace. Each room is eligible for the signature St. Regis Butler service.
Two dining venues are available for guests of the St. Regis Astana: The Grill, a contemporary fine dining experience with table-side presentation serving grilled meats, fish and vegetables; and the new location of La Riviere, which serves fine international cuisine and wine. The accompanying St. Regis Bar also has an exclusive selection of fine champagne, rare vintage wines, hand-crafted cocktails and the signature St. Regis Bloody Mary, which is reimagined in the hotel’s own Nomad Snapper cocktail.
Meanwhile, the brand’s signature Iridium Spa spans 2,300 square meters and presents guests with six treatment rooms, including two single suites with private Jacuzzi and a couple suite with a private sauna, a beauty and grooming salon, a hammam and an indoor swimming pool.
In addition, The St. Regis Astana is also opening its 1,000-square-meter Astor Ballroom for social and gala events. The pillarless space can accommodate up to 575 guests, suitable for weddings and corporate occasions.
To celebrate its opening, the St. Regis Astana has a special opening package available: starting at $480 per room per night, guests will enjoy a stay in a Deluxe room, receive complimentary breakfasts, a signature Bloody Mary for two, and a 30-minute couple massage at Iridium Spa.
