The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort has unveiled new experiences as it resumes operations following a 45-day closure for a property rejig.
As part of the property enhancements, accommodations received a refresh with the installation of new wood, roofs, decks and paint finishes. Extensions for ALBA beach and all beach villas have been completed. Additionally, a reef breaker has been installed in the lagoon, creating calmer waters for guests staying in overwater villas, watersports and to aid in reef rejuvenation.
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli has unveiled a new restaurant concept, T-Pan. Located in a garden with views of the Indian Ocean, T-Pan is slated to open in November and will offer omakase experiences. Guests can enjoy Japanese whiskey and a collection of gin, beer and curated tasting flights, directed by the chief mixologist. Teas from boutique Japanese tea houses and bespoke sakes from Dassai are also must-haves.
Guests can also avail of the Iridium Spa’s new “Ayurveda Monsoon Stay” package starting August 3. The seven- and 14-day packages include a range of services under the guidance of Dr. Sudhi Suresh, the Ayurvedic physician and spa manager. The package offers treatments that incorporate herbs from the Ayurveda garden, and includes individual wellness consultations, daily group yoga, aqua aerobics, TRX, Tabata, beach boot-camp classes, Ayurvedic sessions and wellness workshops, and an anti-aging caviar facial.
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli will launch an “Art Retreat” hosted by Denise Schmitz, founder of We Love Art. The three-day program begins with a welcome orientation and drink followed by sunset cocktails and dinner at Orientale. In addition to painting sessions, the retreat includes sunrise and anti-gravity yoga, relaxing treatments at Iridium Spa, dining experiences, a “Turtle Quest” and champagne sabering.
A new bar program is set to unveil in August. Featuring a “Violet Hour” and New York-inspired cocktails, the program pays homage to the legacy of the House of Astor. It includes 40 cocktail recipes inspired by five New York neighborhoods.
Set across 22 acres, each of the resort’s 77 villas scattered through the island offer a plunge pool and private entrance. The two- and three-bedroom villas, including the overwater John Jacob Astor Estate, are well-suited for families and groups.
