The St. Regis Toronto Opened December 1

This former Trump hotel has reemerged as The St. Regis Toronto following a year-long refurbishment. The property, which was also called The Adelaide in recent months, was built in 2012 but needed several design and palette changes to bring it up to St. Regis standards.

Guests arriving at the hotel will be greeted with an open-concept lobby, where the Astor Lounge, located behind the reception, will have a vibe that changes from day to night. Also added was the LOUIX LOUIS Grand Bar & Restaurant on the 31st floor. We’re told the double-height space will have one of the deepest dark spirit collections in Canada, a cheese trolley, a loft reserved for private events and an outdoor “secret garden” terrace with views of downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario. Our tip? Try their twist on the Bloody Mary, which will have a base more similar to the Caesar, which was invented in Canada.

Of the 258 rooms (starting at 550 square feet), 124 are suites, all of which are touted by St. Regis as the largest in the city. The St. Regis also converted two of 30th-floor meetings and event spaces into the hotel’s top suites: The John Jacob Astor Suite and Caroline Astor Suite.

What’s better? If you have A-list clientele, The St. Regis Toronto has a dedicated VIP entrance, meaning guests won’t have to sneak around behind the scenes.

Guests can expect signature St. Regis amenities and activities, such as Afternoon Tea (featuring North America’s first tea sommelier), champagne sabering, midnight supper events for social elites and more. We even hear that the tea sommelier will help turn St. Regis’ signature scent (used in the lobbies) into a tea blend and that tours to see how the flavors are created will be available.

The St. Regis Toronto is a quick walk (and a quicker ride) to the city’s top dining, fashion and theater. For enquiries, reach out to Annie Bao (Annie.Bao1@stregis.com), luxury travel sales manager.
