The Jeremy West Hollywood Hotel is set to open this month as part of a recent acquisition by Starwood Capital Group, a global private investment firm. Located on a hilltop, the hotel offers unobstructed views from most rooms, ranging from Santa Monica to Downtown Los Angeles. It has 50 suites, including two Penthouse Suites, a pool, fitness center, two conference rooms, meetings and events space, a rooftop bar and lounge, a café as well as a restaurant and lobby bar.
The 286-room hotel, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is located in West Hollywood, CA on the corner of La Cienega and Sunset Boulevard. Over the course of the next year, The Jeremy will be transformed into the 1 Hotel West Hollywood, preparing to relaunch toward the end of 2018. This will make it the fourth property in the brand’s award-winning line of eco-friendly and sustainable properties. When it opens under this new name, it will join sister hotels in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Miami Beach.
The brand’s Manhattan location of 1 Hotel Central Park was voted “Best Urban Hotel” in the world by Wallpaper Magazine earlier this year, the press release said.
But there are also more 1 Hotels in the works – locations under development are located in: Sanya, China, slated to open in late 2018; Cabo San Lucas to open in the fall of 2019; and Sunnyvale, CA to open in late 2019.
Starwood Capital chairman Barry Sternlicht said in the release that the brand is “excited to acquire” the West Hollywood location and add it to the brand’s portfolio of 1 Hotels. He added that they “can’t wait” to launch The Jeremy, later bringing the sustainability-focused brand to “a city and state that cares so much about the environment.”
The Jeremy and the 1 West Hollywood are set to be managed by Starwood Capital’s in-house hotel management company SH Group, which manages the 1 Hotels brand as well as Baccarat Hotel & Residences in Midtown Manhattan.
