There’s a unique boutique hotel in Chiang Mai housed in a 19th century teak building that was formerly part of the East Borneo Company headquarters. A member of SLH, this 30-suite hotel was opened by the Wongphanlert Family in late 2011. Now they are expanding the 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts brand to other locations in Thailand. Next up: the 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok, opening in early 2017, followed by the 137 Pillars Estate Phuket, which will debut on the North Kata Peninsula in 2019.
What’s in store in the Thai capital? Situated in the Thonglor district, 137 Pillars Bangkok will have 179 residences and 34 suites complete with walk-in closets, balconies and private wine cellars. Each suite will be serviced by a butler. Highlights will be the personal shopper services and the private in-suite dining. Facilities are expansive: Nimitr restaurant, Jack Bain's Bar and Cigar Divan, spa and Skybar infinity pool.
To quote the official website, the 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts hallmarks are “the team dedicated to excellence in service, respect for nature and the environment and creating a living legend.”
