Thompson Central Park New York is celebrating the completion of "Upper Stories," a collection of 174 guestrooms and suites on the hotel’s highest floors. Bookings are open for stays beginning early September 2022. Upper Stories marks the completion of the brand’s planned renovations and redesigns since first opening the property in November 2021.
Appointed to floors 26 through 33 of Thompson Central Park New York, the Upper Stories offer views of Central Park and Midtown Manhattan. Designed by Stonehill Taylor, the guestrooms and suites sport dark oak casework, walnut floors and marble bathrooms and tables.
Thompson Central Park New York will also debut the Upper Stories Lounge, exclusively frequented by Upper Stories guests and residents of of the hotel. Located over the atrium on the hotel’s third floor, the Upper Stories Lounge is designed by Thomas Juul Hansen. Upon arrival, guests will be escorted to a private check-in experience in the Lounge and enjoy access to an exclusive concierge for the duration of their stay. The lounge will offer breakfast spreads, light bites and drinks throughout the day from a menu of seasonally inspired fare.
As a nod to the hotel’s love of jazz and New York City’s music history, the property has also tapped Victrola, an innovator in modern sounds and turntables since 1906, to introduce the Victrola Listening Lounge, featuring a collection of vinyl records for guests to enjoy. All rooms and Upper Stories Studio Suites will be equipped with Victrola’s Linden Wood Bluetooth Radio, and in one-bedroom suites, guests will find Victrola’s V1 Soundbar Turntables, which stream music and serve as a television soundbar.
Through a collaboration with Nordstrom, guests will also have exclusive access to Nordstrom Perks, including a direct line to Nordstrom Flagship Ambassador, in-room shopping with personal stylists, same day pick-up and drop-off for last-minute shopping, in-room tailoring and invitations to Flagship Nordstrom events.
Along with access to the Lounge, those who reserve Upper Stories accommodations will receive priority seating and reservations for live music and dining at Parker’s, the hotel’s lobby lounge, and can utilize the Residents Only Fitness Studio. Upper Stories guests will also receive invitations to exclusive activations and seasonal collaborations in the Upper Stories Lounge throughout the year, beginning with private experiences this September in partnership with the U.S. Open and. later this fall, “The New York City Wine & Food Festival.”
Thompson Central Park New York introduced updated public spaces on the first floor in June with the opening of Parker’s, the hotel’s lobby lounge, and the unveiling of the redesigned 36-foot-high atrium. Live jazz in partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America floats throughout the space, entertaining guests and visitors. Parker’s complements existing culinary offerings, including Burger Joint, and the internationally acclaimed Indian Accent. The hotel has also introduced a revamped fitness center, and refined meeting and event spaces.
