Thompson Denver has opened in the Lower Downtown (LoDo) district. The new-build hotel, owned by the real estate firm T2 Hospitality, is home to Chez Maggy, a 90-seat, ground-floor restaurant by chef Ludo Lefebvre; Reynard Social, a sixth-floor sunroom bar and lounge with a seasonally driven cocktail program, curated wine list, local beer selection and alpine-inspired bites; a 1,032-square-foot signature Thompson Suite; and more.
The hotel's design is inspired by the community in which it resides. The property’s location in LoDo is near key area attractions like the 16th Street Promenade, Union Station, Larimer Square, Coors Field, Ball Arena and popular eateries, craft breweries, theaters and museums—all a short drive from Denver International Airport. Parts + Labor did the interiors of the 216-room hotel, blending Thompson Hotels’ mid-century modern foundation with natural materials like wood, stone and copper, as well as classic mountain town elements for a chalet-style design. A two-story hearth fireplace extends from the lobby down to residential-style entertainment spaces on the lower level. Artwork from exclusively local Colorado artists adorn the walls.
The hotel's Thompson Suite has an expansive private terrace with seating for eight, a two-sided indoor/outdoor glass fireplace, separate living and dining areas, a rainfall shower and freestanding soaker tub. All guestrooms include Sferra bedding and D.S. & Durga bath amenities, as well as an honor bar and mini-fridge with local products as well as favorites from Thompson Hotels properties across the U.S. and Mexico.
Chez Maggy is Chef Lefebvre’s first concept outside of Los Angeles—and within a hotel. Overseeing both in-room dining across the property and this 90-seat brasserie (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner), Lefebvre blends his signature French style with hyper-local inspiration from the region’s unique mountain climate. At the restaurant, guests can ex[ect classic French fare alongside playful tributes to the city of Denver and integration of local mountain ingredients. Dishes range from classics such as French Onion Soup, Steak Tartare, Duck L’Orange and Escargot, to the locally inspired, like Bison Bourguignon, a Frenchified “Denver Omelette” and a Burger à la Française.
Located on the sixth floor, Reynard Social serves a menu of après-inspired dishes and craft cocktails. It overlooks the Rocky Mountains and takes its namesake from Reynard the Fox, the beloved trickster of European folklore whose playfulness is found in the venue’s experience and offerings.
Thompson Denver also debuts its signature collaboration with Victrola, the Denver-based manufacturer of turntables for more than 100 years, to provide a musical experience for guests. In addition to listening experiences in the guestrooms and suites, the hotel offers a communal Victrola Listening Lounge in Reynard Social, with the all-new T1 Turntable, as well as a selection of vinyl specifically curated by Victrola. The hotel also has a private dining space and bar for up to 60 guests tucked into the mezzanine, a lobby-level café and retail space serving all-day refreshments, as well as meeting and event venues centered around the two-story hearth fireplace and a 24-hour fitness center.
Good to know: Thompson Denver is a pet-friendly property.
Deal: To celebrate the hotel’s debut in the "Mile High City," Thompson Denver is extending an opening offer—"A Toast to LoDo"—which includes a $75 food and beverage credit. The offer is available for reservations made before March 31, 2022 for stays from February 10, 2022 through April 30, 2022.
