Sleeping in a bed other than yours is a big issue for plenty of travelers. Hotels and resorts around the world have caught on and are providing an answer. Places such as the Lefay Resort & Spa, The St. Regis Mexico City and Pebble Beach Resorts offer special sleep and relaxation treatments. Guests at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa and the Alpina Gstaad can participate in yoga routines designed to relax and help with sleep.
Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda
The Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda is a five-star hotel in northern Italy. The property’s Sweet Dreams package combines Chinese medicine with Western practices for a five-night sleep program. The treatment works to encourage sleep by stimulating energy lines and acupuncture points.
The sleep package includes numerous massages and treatments; among these are two Lefay SPA energy massages, a salt-water pool session, personalized phytotherapy, three moxibustion treatments and activities for rebalancing physical energy. The spa provides a final examination that gives participants specific recommendations to maintain healthy sleep.
Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa
Travelers to Arizona can visit the Sanctuary Spa at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa and take advantage of its new yoga program: Yoga Nidra. The class brings guests as close as possible to sleep without losing consciousness. By slowing the participants’ thinking, the practice naturally releases stress and toxins.
The session starts off with easy yoga techniques and moves on to sleep-guided meditation. The goal of yoga nidra is to leave people with an increased feeling of connection and an improved physical, mental and emotional well-being.
The St. Regis Mexico City
The St. Regis Mexico City recently unveiled its new Meditation Butler by Remède Spa, a collection of spa and in-room treatments. The 90-minute Mindfulness Sleep Ritual and the in-room Profound Relaxation Ritual are two of these options.
The Mindfulness Sleep Ritual calms the nervous system using a facial reflexology and a powerful massage with quartz and essential oils. Through aromatherapy and a shiatsu massage, the Profound Relaxation Ritual helps ease guests’ nerves from the comfort of their room. Both services include access to the meditation-guiding Muse headband.
The Alpina Gstaad
Visitors to the Alpina Gstaad in the Swiss Alps can participate in the hotel’s Yogic Sleep retreat. The three-day program joins yoga nidra with gentle yoga and a form of breath regulation known as pranayama. The retreat, led by a yoga teacher, aims to relax and provide better sleep. Daily yoga, massages, forest bathing and optional group classes are all included in the package.
Pebble Beach Resorts
Visitors to California’s Pebble Beach Resorts looking for help with their sleep can choose from its spa’s two relaxation treatment, the Restorative Nap and the Flotation Wrap. The Restorative Nap is a 25-minute guided meditation that works to rest the mind, body and spirit. The Flotation Wrap is a 45-minute dry flotation bed service.
Guests who pick the flotation bed can choose between three different wraps. The Swiss Crème Wrap works to moisturize the skin. The Cloud Nineteen Wrap uses Shea butter and aromatherapy-infused jojoba oil to soothe guests’ skin. For those tired from walking, the spa offers the Espresso Limon Slimming Wrap. This treatment combines a foot massage with a wrap that blends South American coffee oil, Italian lemons and Madagascan cinnamon.
