Tucson Arizona’s Miraval Resort is expanding its award-winning spa menu this October. The spa offers ancient healing rituals, hair care, mani/pedis, skin care, and signature bodywork.
New treatments include:
Harvest Honey Ceremony
The limited-edition, invite-only facial uses the resort’s own organic wildflower honey in the treatment. The products used include honey sourced from the 20 on-property hives, chia seed oil, locally grown blood oranges and native aloe.
The treatment begins with face exfoliation with chia seeds and is followed by application of the mask that is prepared in front of the guest. After it is absorbed, the face is warmed by a hand-sewn compress containing green tea, rose and citrus followed by a relaxing massage with chia seed oil.
Only 20 facials will be given per year, one for each hive on the property. Each will benefit the Tohono Chul Park Adopt-a-Bee program. There will also be versions of the treatment available with honey not from the Miraval property hives.
Vasudhara
Guests are blindfolded and given noise-cancelling headphones in order for them to fully experience the weightlessness of water, Thai massage stretches and pulsations of sound from an underwater speaker. The treatment is designed to totally relax the body and mind and focus solely on the sense of touch.
The Path of the Jaguar
The interactive experience is led by Shamanic healer to allow guests "to leave the past behind and embrace whatever lies ahead." Through a series of indigenous Chakra-clearing healing practices, guests release their negative energies into hand-selected crystals which are then buried on the Miraval property and left behind.
The resort houses a variety of rooms suites, and villas as well as a restaurant, café, lounge, and poolside bar. There are also a range of activities available including fitness, photography, culinary, and equine.
