Verdura Resort Unveils Significant Redesign

Rocco Forte Hotels’ Verdura Resort in Sicily has reopened its doors following a full refurbishment of its central building. The island’s rich culinary traditions will be on display at three new restaurants—L’Osteria, Zagara and Buongiorno—and at the newly launched cocktail bar Scirocco. Another addition is the unveiling of the piazza beside the 16th-century Saracen Tower. This space is home to a new shopping area and Nagori, a restaurant where Japanese and Sicilian flavors meet. Guests can also rediscover Liolà, a Sicilian restaurant that reopens this season with a brand-new look.

The resort’s eight dining outlets celebrate the Sicilian flavors, now complemented by several new restaurants serving international cuisine. Curated by Creative Director of Food Fulvio Pierangelini, the hotel’s gastronomic offering includes Zagara, Buongiorno, Ondina, Amare and Liolà. Of the three new additions, L’Osteria, open from noon to 11 p.m., is a versatile all-day dining venue serving simple dishes. The menu includes the likes of small cod fish from Sciacca. In homage to traditional osterias, wines are served in carafes and a special is available daily. The resort’s own vegetable garden provides the osteria with fresh produce each day, highlighting the property’s commitment to sustainability. A seafront terrace completes the experience, offering sea vistas extending to the coast of Africa.

Well-suited for an aperitivo or an after-dinner drink, Scirocco is an innovative cocktail bar with a menu that's a tribute to the flavors of Sicily. Drinks are prepared using fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs from the Resort’s Verdura Farm.

Nagori is a new culinary concept by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, blending western and Far Eastern culinary traditions. The chef’s creations are prepared using local produce, incorporating both raw and cooked ingredients, complemented by greens sourced from the resort’s vegetable garden. Located within the ancient Saracen Tower, the restaurant has a Japanese-style design rooted in the principles of minimalism, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.

Zagara is an ideal setting to host secluded dinners. The new design includes bronze sculptures, lush foliage, stone and wood elements, and climbing plants wrapped around wooden columns. Secluded dining niches located throughout the garden provide an intimate and exclusive ambiance.

As part of the resort’s redesign, the main entrance has been renovated by Lady Olga Polizzi, director of Design Rocco Forte Hotels.
