Vik Retreats has announced the appointments of Stefano Michetti as general manager of Galleria Vik Milano and Virginia Contreras as general manager of Vik Chile and Puro Vik in Millahue, Chile.
Stefano Michetti joins Galleria Vik Milano, which first opened its doors in late 2019, with over 20 years of hospitality experience. Michetti joins Galleria Vik Milano from Hotel Principe Di Savoia, Dorchester Collection in Milan Italy, where he most recently served as sales account director. In his role, he gained expertise in the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives across a range of platforms. Additional positions held include senior sales manager at Melia’ Roma Aurelia Antica, front office manager at Melia’ Milano, NH Jolly Excelsior in Siena, Italy, NH Jolly De La Gare in Bologna, Italy, and NH Jolly Ambassador in Naples, Italy, and more.
About the property: Galleria Vik Milano is Vik Retreat’s brand’s first city retreat and debut in Europe, located within the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of Italy’s most iconic landmarks. Art, architecture and design play a central role at Galleria Vik Milano: Upon entering the reception, guests are welcomed by Auguste Rodin’s famed bronze sculpture, The Thinker, as well a dry fresco covering the ceiling and walls by Italian artist Alex Folla. Galleria Vik Milano has 89 rooms and suites singularly “designed to showcase art, décor, views and experiences.”
Virginia Contreras’s appointment as general manager of Vik Chile and Puro Vik in Millahue, Chile comes as the property debuts La Piu Belle Rosé, the newest addition to VIK Winery’s family of wines. Contreras joins the property from Awasi – Relais & Chateaux in Chile, where she spent the past 11 years climbing the ranks and gaining expertise and insight into the luxury marketplace. In her most recent role, she served as hotel operations manager. She has also held positions as assistant manager at Las Balsas Relais & Chateaux in Neuquén, Argentina, and as an airport agent for American Airlines in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Vik Chile, Puro Vik and the VIK Winery all work in tandem and are set on 11,000 acres of vineyards and valleys in Chile’s Millahue Valley. Vik Chile is located on a hilltop and is home to 22 suites, each with its own art and design, while Puro Vik is a collection of individual glass houses just below.
