W San Francisco has appointed Amy Arbuckle as its general manager. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, she has proven to be a strong leader and is proficient in building teams to achieve a common goal. In her new role, Arbuckle will oversee an all-female executive leadership team.
“Throughout my extensive career in hospitality I have never worked with an all-female team, and I feel honored to have the rare opportunity to lead this rockstar group of women,” said Arbuckle. “We all bring a unique passion for hospitality and desire to make a difference and are mutually invested in each other’s success. This creates a fun and exciting environment in which everyone embraces a free exchange of ideas and opportunities for collaboration.”
Previously, Arbuckle held the position of general manager and CFIOO for The Clancy, an Autograph Collection Hotel. She also worked as director of sales and marketing for San Francisco Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf, earning a promotion to general manager. Prior to that, Arbuckle was director of sales and marketing for Sheraton Hotel Fisherman’s Wharf and director of sales and marketing for Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Inc.
Arbuckle is the current chair of the Board of Directors for the Hotel Council of San Francisco, where she participates in an annual “Women in Leadership Forum” and is an active member on the council’s Political Action Committee. She also served as a member of the board of directors for the San Francisco Travel Association and was the former treasurer for The East Cut Community Benefit District.
Arbuckle received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a minor in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona. A strong advocate for healthy work-life balance, Arbuckle enjoys spending time with her family, exploring wine country, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
