The talk of the town in Los Angeles is this month’s opening of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Situated next to The Beverly Hilton at the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards, the 12-story new-build property is the second for Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria brand in California after La Quinta Resort & Club.
Why has this luxury hotel been so hotly anticipated? For one thing, there’s the spa by La Prairie, the only one in Los Angeles by the renowned Swiss skincare company. Then there’s the complimentary Rolls Royce house car offering guests a lift within a two-mile radius of the hotel. And the rooftop pool deck, dotted with VIP cabanas, which is the largest rooftop in Beverly Hills, offering panoramic views over the city.
Did we mention the restaurants (not one, but three) by superstar chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten? As described by Eater, “He’s widely regarded as one of the best living French chefs and has won multiple Michelin stars across the globe, and enjoys a restaurant empire that stretches from Las Vegas to Japan to the Bahamas and beyond. In New York City alone, Vongerichten has nearly a dozen eateries operating at various price points.”
Renowned designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who’s designed ultra-luxury hotels for the likes of Four Seasons and Peninsula, decorated the 119 rooms and 51 suites. To quote the official press release, the style is a “contemporary interpretation of Hollywood glamour and the Streamline Moderne style of the 1930s and 40s.” All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies for maximizing the views of the Hollywood Hills and Century City. Perks for guests include a Personal Concierge service from pre-arrival to departure.
