The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club has announced a $30 million refresh of its 400 guestrooms and suites set to debut in September.
“Following the property’s addition to the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts portfolio last year, we are excited to reimagine our room product and deliver a refreshed resort experience for our guests in the heart of Southern California,” said George Munz, general manager, Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club.
“From the resort refresh to Dana Point’s forthcoming Harbor Revitalization Plan, this thriving destination is entering a new era of growth,” said James Cole, partner at Ohana Real Estate Investors. “We remain invested in strengthening the local economy, while preserving the character that makes Dana Point a sought-after California beach community.”
Design updates nod to local history and the Pacific Ocean with a coastal color palette, natural finishes and curated art collections. The resort has partnered with Whitespace Interiors, a Chicago-based design firm, for the project.
Each of the resort’s 400 guestrooms and suites will receive new flooring, furnishing and finishes. Other enhancements include upgraded fire boxes for Fireside Terrace Rooms. These 77 ground-level guestrooms and suites feature a private fire pit and enchanting views of the resort, golf fairway or ocean, ideal for roasting s’mores or enjoying cool Orange County evenings.
The resort will convert 20 of its Studio Suites to one-bedroom suites, including the expansion of a spacious living room separate from the bedroom, plus a private terrace. These Deluxe One-Bedroom Suites are ideal for solo or “work from anywhere” travelers seeking a luxurious Southern California getaway.
