Westin Hotels & Resorts has unveiled The Westin London City, the brand’s first hotel in the U.K. The brand’s debut, according to Marriott International, comes at a time when consumers’ desire to travel is higher and self-care is being viewed as a “necessity” rather than a choice. The 222-key riverfront property will provide signature amenities including the Heavenly Bed, a spa-like bathroom, and White Tea Heavenly bath products and Sleep Well Lavender Balm.
The property offers two culinary experiences: Wine bar Hithe + Seek and all-day dining destination Mosaic, which is located on the fourth floor. Hithe + Seek offers views of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern, and overlooks River Thames. Its wine list comprises two sections: “Hithe,” which offers familiar favorites; and “Seek,” which showcases lesser-known wines. The small plates menu combines recipes from countries featured in the wine list. Mosaic is named after the artwork commissioned for the property and offers a sustainably sourced menu, including dishes from the Westin Eat Well menu.
The Heavenly Spa by Westin has six treatment rooms and an indoor pool, which was carefully constructed around the archeological remains of the Huggin Hill Bathhouse below (pretty cool!). The WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio offers TRX exercise equipment, Peloton Bikes and a bespoke Hypervolt recovery station from Hyperice.
Good to know: The Westin London City, which also has nine residences, creates the final piece of the Thames pathway connecting the Embankment to the Tower of London, which guests will be encouraged to explore with the hotel’s Rise & Run club, inspired by the brand’s RunWESTIN program. There's also 11, 410 square feet of meeting and events space, including a ballroom and five meeting rooms.
