Ennismore's Hyde Hotels has officially landed in Latin America with the opening of Hyde Mexico City Reforma.

Located on Paseo de la Reforma, the 106-room lifestyle hotel overlooks the Ángel de la Independencia and puts guests within easy reach of Mexico City’s galleries, boutiques, restaurants, bars, and nightlife.

The hotel is a result of of adaptive reuse, and Hyde has retained the original façade and infrastructure while filling the interiors with a healthy dose of colour, art and local character which includes artworks by Mexican creatives such as architect Javier Senosiain, sculptor J. Nicole Taboada, and textile designers Vangi Uriegas and Karla Pellegrino.

Upstairs, the 106 rooms, studios and suites are a calmer counterpoint to the energy below. However, guests who want to live in the energy can opt for views directly over Reforma and the Ángel de la Independencia.

For food and drink, guests can visit Enzu Restaurant & Bar where they can enjoy contemporary Japanese cooking. The concept pairs seafood from Ensenada and Japanese ingredients with Mexican produce across sushi, shareable plates and dishes cooked over a binchotan charcoal robata grill. There’s also a 14-seat, reservation-only omakase counter for those looking for a more intimate experience.

Later this autumn, Sun & Moon will arrive on the fourth floor as Hyde’s self-described “neighborhood living room,” moving from coffee and pastries by day to cocktails after dark. A connecting terrace shared with the forthcoming SO/ Mexico City Reforma will host dinners, guest bartenders and locally focused cultural programming.
