Kimpton Heading to Thailand’s Phang Nga

IHG Hotels & Resorts is proving it’s not all about Phuket when it comes to Thailand by taking its Kimpton brand to  Phang-Nga province.

The global hospitality company has signed 150-key resort Kimpton Phang-Nga Natai Beach in partnership with Natai Venture Co. Ltd.

Scheduled to open in 2028, the first Kimpton property in Phang Nga — and the second IHG property in the southern province after InterContinental Phang Nga Bay Resort — will feature a mix of guest rooms, suites and villas in lush tropical surroundings as well as several restaurants and bars, a spa, swimming pools, a fitness center, kids’ club and function spaces.

IHG says the resort is being positioned as a social and dining destination in its own right, with all-day restaurants, lively lobby and beach bars and design-led spaces intended to attract locals as well as hotel guests.

The signing comes as hotel groups continue to seek luxury lifestyle opportunities beyond current tourist hotspots such as Phuket.

“Travelers increasingly seek authentic experiences combined with a growing appetite for lifestyle experiences, and we believe Natai Beach is exceptionally well-positioned to meet this demand,” said Naphat Boontanonda, director of Natai Venture.
