Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve has announced the appointment of Carly Cox as director of sales, effective February 10, 2020. Cox is rejoining the Marriott family, bringing 15 years of industry experience to lead the on-site sales team.
Cox joined the Marriott family in 2005 as a marketing executive for Frenchman’s Cove in St. Thomas, USVI. She held multiple senior sales positions within the company, working for The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, Washington D.C., Georgetown and Amelia Island. In 2009, she received the highest sales recognition, the Chairman’s Circle Award, and has continued to consistently meet budget expectations and achieve her goals.
Most recently, she held the director of leisure sales role at the Condado Vanderbilt in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she has been since departing Amelia Island in 2015.
In her new role, Cox will focus on growing the leisure segment and supporting the group sales team to continue in the development of new opportunities that expand business and awareness of the Reserve brand to the ultra-luxury traveler.
Dorado Beach is located on Puerto Rico's Atlantic coast. Last year, the resort, which is situated on 1,400 acres of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, reopened the redesigned five-bedroom villa, Su Casa. Su Casa is the former estate of historical figure Clara Livingston; it can accommodate 12 guests across five bedrooms, each complete with a walk-in closet and a connecting spacious bathroom. Guests can also unwind at the Spa Botánico, a five-acre sanctuary built on a pineapple field that blends Puerto Rican ingredients and indigenous traditions to impart a holistic sense of wellbeing.
