Voted by fans as DJ Mag's No. 1 DJ in the world, Martin Garrix was also handpicked last summer to be the face of Armani Exchange. Some of his collaborations include "Scared to Be Lonely" with Dua Lipa and "So Far Away" with David Guetta. Asked what he enjoys most about working with other artists, Garrix, 21, said, "I love to see how everyone works with music in a different way. I think for every artist, it's interesting to see how someone else is working. Lana Del Rey is still on my wish list for collaborations and I would love to go into the studio with Shawn Mendes."

Q. Where is home?

A. Home is Amsterdam, (where) I have an apartment. And my family lives close to Amsterdam. But I'm touring most of the time and don't stay in one place very long.

Q. What would be your dream trip?

A. Something adventurous would be cool. I've once climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, so I'm definitely in for something like that. But a good trip would also include my family and friends and just hanging out together.

Q. What are your favorite restaurants?

A. Since I'm from Amsterdam, I will give you some tips there. My favorite restaurants in Amsterdam are The Duchess (http://the-duchess.com) and FIKO Amsterdam (http://www.fikoamsterdam.com). FIKO Amsterdam has the best pizza and pasta. At The Duchess, you have to order the Beef Wellington!

Q. Where was the first place you traveled to for work?

A. My first show outside of the Netherlands was on Ibiza. It was in a small club with 15 people on the dance floor, but it was such an amazing experience!

Q. What is your favorite vacation destination?

A. I have to say that when traveling the world, you see so many beautiful places. I had an amazing holiday at the Maldives last year, where I will go again this year. It's such a relaxing and beautiful place. Relax, swim, eat and enjoy the sun and your surroundings!

Q. What country has enthusiastic fans?

A. Korea. The fans are crazy. I would love to go back!

Q. Where are some good venues to catch live performances?

A. One of my current favorite artists is Post Malone. I saw him at Paradiso Amsterdam. It's a very iconic venue in Amsterdam and I also had the honor to do a show there. One of my favorite festivals is still Coachella, where I performed (in 2017). I love the vibe there and that everyone who visits is really open-minded about music.

Q. What's the most important thing you've learned from your travels?

A. I figured that when I'm visiting a place, it's important to know where I am. I always try to see as much as I can. I love exploring different countries and cultures. I always try to do fun activities between traveling and shows.

Q. Where are your favorite weekend getaways?

A. On the weekends I'm mostly on tour, so you could say I have different getaways every weekend.

Q. If you've ever gone away for the holidays, which was the best trip?

A. Honestly, the best thing for me is spending (holidays) with my family. (This past Christmas), we (went) skiing and I (was) really looking forward to it. I really love skiing.

Q. What are your favorite cities?

A. For sure my hometown Amsterdam. Many of my friends and family live there, so it's always good to be there. Next to that I have been fortunate to have seen many amazing cities throughout the year, so it's difficult to pick a favorite.

Q. Where have you traveled to that most reminded you of home?

A. Ibiza! This past summer I had two residencies there, at Ushuaia and Hi. I rented a house for the summer and all my friends and family came over. It's my second home during the summer.

Q. Where would you like to go that you have never been to before?

A. Space!

Q. When you go away, what are some of your must-have items?

A. My phone and definitely my laptop. And a pillow to sleep on the plane.

Q. What is your guilty pleasure when you're on the road?

A. Sleeping all the time.
