Grace Bay Resorts has appointed Scott Khile to the role of VP of sales and marketing. With more than 25 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry—including eight years with Grace Bay Resorts. In his new role, he is responsible for the overall sales and marketing initiatives of Grace Bay Resorts and its branded properties, overseeing day-to-day operations to support growth and increase revenue, while managing the brands' marketing standards.
In Toronto, two hotels have named new general managers. Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto has appointed Ron Pellerine as GM. Previously, he served in the same role at the Langham Hotel, Boston. He was in Toronto previous to his time in Boston at the Langham Chelsea Hotel, where he oversaw Canada’s largest hotel (1,590 guestrooms). Additionally, Kimpton Saint George in Toronto named Bertrand Mangeot as GM. He previously held multiple positions at InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel before moving the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland and the InterContinental Toronto Centre.
Andaz West Hollywood, located on Los Angeles' Sunset Blvd, has announced the promotion of Brandon McBain from entertainment sales manager to director of business and entertainment travel. In this new position, McBain will oversee all lodging and event needs for corporate and entertainment industry clients.
Sandals Resorts International chairman and founder, Gordon “Butch” Stewart, announced the appointment of Gebhard F. Rainer to the role of CEO. He will be replacing Adam Stewart, who announced last month that we would be stepping down from his role after 12 years. (Adam Stewart, “Butch” Stewart’s son, will remain deputy chairman of the company.) Rainer is a hospitality executive veteran with global operations and international finance experience, notably with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where he served as executive vice president and CFO.
