Oetker Collection has announced its new chief executive officer, Dr. Timo Gruenert. Dr. Gruenert took over leadership of the company on May 1, 2020, succeeding Frank Marrenbach. Earlier this year Marrenbach resigned as general manager of Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden and was succeeded in this role by Henning Matthiesen.
Dr. Gruenert began his career with the Oetker Group as assistant to the managing partner in 2005 after receiving his PhD from University of Giessen with a thesis on Mergers & Acquisitions in corporate crisis. In 2009, Dr. Gruenert co-led the founding of Oetker Collection and has served as co-managing director and chief financial officer ever since. Over the past eleven years, Dr. Gruenert has overseen the steady growth of Oetker Collection’s hotel portfolio from four hotels in 2009, to nine in 2020.
“I am deeply honored to step into the role of CEO and continue the journey that Mr. Frank Marrenbach and I began over ten years ago,” Dr. Greunert said in an official release.
Oetker Collection’s portfolio includes Le Bristol Paris, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, Château Saint-Martin & Spa in Vence, France, L’Apogée Courchevel, The Lanesborough in London and Brenners Park Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden, Germany, in addition to two gems in the Caribbean: Eden Rock - St Barths and Jumby Bay Island off the coast of Antigua and the Brazilian Grande Dame in Sao Paulo, Palácio Tangará.
