Sofitel New York has announced the hiring of Amber Kasses as its new director of sales and marketing. She joins the luxury hotel after a nine-year management career with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Most recently, Kasses worked as the director of sales and marketing for Fairmont Newport Beach. There, she was charged with building, training, and managing a revenue-generating team.
Kasses also worked in various sales and revenue roles during her time at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, where she began her career in 2008.
She holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Washington State University as well as a certification in revenue management from eCornell University.
Rudy Tauscher, general manager of Sofitel New York, says that Amber’s past experience and strong management skills made her an ideal match with the luxury hotel.
Sofitel New York is located in Midtown Manhattan with easy access to Fifth Avenue and the Times Square Theater District and houses 398 guest rooms, including 52 suites; function space that can accommodate small-to-mid-sized events; and Gaby Brasserie Française, the hotel’s restaurant.
The hotel recently announced that for the 25th annual New York City Restaurant Week, Chef Hohmann will offer a prix-fixe menu celebrating fresh summer flavors. The menu will be available until August 18.
The three-course lunch menu is priced at $29 while the three-course dinner menu offers the same $42 with additional choices. There is also a three-course brunch menu for $29 with the option of adding endless bloody Marys, Mimosas, and Bellini’s for an additional $20.
