Minor Hotels is establishing the Asian Institute of Hospitality Management in academic association with Les Roches Global Hospitality Education. Slated to open in September 2020, with campuses in Bangkok and Chonburi in Thailand, the institute will offer certificates, diplomas and bachelor’s degrees in hospitality management in academic association with Les Roches.
Les Roches educates under the Swiss paradigm and operates under Sommet Education, an education network serving undergraduate and graduate students from over 100 countries.
The Asian Institute of Hospitality bachelor’s degree, based on the Swiss education system, can be completed in seven semesters, or three and a half years, fusing classroom studies and practical training. Students who qualify could transfer to Les Roches campuses in Bluche, Switzerland and Marbella, Spain.
Launching campuses in both Bangkok and Chonburi, a coastal area lined with popular beaches, is a move designed to support the needs of Thailand’s fast-growing tourism industry, particularly that of the Eastern Economic Corridor.
The institute will also be offering development training for hotel industry professionals to bridge the gap between an expanding demand for experienced hospitality leaders and limited domestic supply.
