Ovation Travel Group, one of the largest independently owned travel management companies in the United States, acquired the U.K.-based Chartwell Travel Limited. The new London office will be the first the company completely owns outside of the U.S.
Chartwell Travel Limited will become Ovation’s center for luxury leisure and corporate travel in the U.K. Former shareholder and leader of Chartwell Travel, Marshall Joseph, will continue to lead the office under Tina Rose. Rose, who spent 12 years working with Protravel International, will join Ovation Travel Group as managing director of the London office. In her new position, she will be in charge of the company’s growth in the U.K.
The company focuses on upscale business travel for service intensive clients, such as professionals in entertainment, film, television and news production. The company assists these clients with business travel, tailored luxury travel and special events planning.
Ovation Travel Group first started as Lawyers Travel nearly 35 years ago. Today, that brand continues to grow by double digits and is Ovation Travel Group’s flagship brand.
Ovation is a $1.1 billion travel management company that operates out of over 30 locations spread through the U.S. and U.K. The company employs more than 600 people and over 200 independent travel advisors. Ovation Travel Group manages corporate travel for over 700 professional organizations and more than 200,000 travelers.
