Looking to take your business to the next level? Luxury Travel Advisor spoke with the advisors who have appeared on our magazine’s cover to find out their Top Three Management Tips. First, we have Lia Batkin, co-founder of In The Know Experiences.
Batkin and her husband Seth Kaplan founded In The Know in 2007, catering it towards younger travelers needing more than just a hotel room and flight. Six years later it was admitted into Virtuoso – one of the youngest agencies to ever do so. Her top tips are as follows:
1. Be Open to New Ideas/Suggestions From All of Your Employees
Not only will it help your business evolve but it will also empower your employees to constantly be thinking as well as feeling apart of the company's growth.
2. Help Foster Their Growth, Knowledge, and Relationships
Whether this is encouraging them to go on FAM trips and personal travel that will increase their knowledge base, attending professional conferences, or even events/seminars to teach them great sales practices.
3. Remind Everyone That This Is Still a Business
Always remind everyone that all the amazing trips and experiences they get invited to are for their clients…and that this is a business so it is important to not ever let it get to your head. Be gracious and thankful to all the suppliers for allowing you into their beautiful hotels to experience them to be able to send clients. Do not ever be expectant or not humble about anything that is offered to you. Again, it’s not for you its for the client.
