Travel Leaders Network Unveils "Bucket List" Destinations of 2019

Industry professionals at Travel Leaders Network have uncovered a number of top destinations for 2019. Five of the trending destinations include:

Maldives. When vacationing in the Maldives, one can also experience an oceanfront villa at Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa. Islands in the Sun offers a six-day option that includes a champagne reception, several fine dining experiences, nightly cocktail reception and excursions that include whale shark tours, guided snorkel tours, night fishing, sunset cruises and local island discovery. An exclusive offer when booking through a Travel Leaders advisor provides a $100 spa credit.

India is a country filled with spiritual tradition. Visitors can receive blessings from a priest in Kalna, walk along the Ganges, the holy river of Hinduism, or experience a tour of the Hare Krishna headquarters. A 13-day Avalon Waterways river cruise is an opportunity to visit this part of the world.

Morocco, listed as an “Up and Coming” destination from a 2018 Travel Leaders Group survey, is becoming a go-to place for celebrities. The country has 300 sunny days a year and miles of coastline. A camel ride in the desert with a dinner picnic can result in an opportunity to relax on the sands and watch the twinkling stars above. The city of Marrakesh, or Tangier, a port city on the Strait of Gibraltar, has long been romanticized in poetry, art and song. Visitors will experience the palaces and museums filled with artifacts, as well as the bazaars selling trinkets and jewelry. An 11-day cruise on Silversea departing from Barcelona to Casablanca on May 30, 2019, offers a means for experiencing this region.

Singapore is a modern city with rooftop bars, laser light shows and Sky Park, which is a cantilevered platform supporting the world’s longest rooftop infinity pool. It is set against the backdrop of Singapore’s sparkling skyline. A 14-night voyage aboard Celebrity Cruises that includes a visit to Singapore and five more ports of call throughout Thailand, Vietnam and China is an option for visiting Singapore and other Southeast Asia destinations. The journey includes dinners at four of the destinations and all onboard meals.

Greenland is a country where the evening entertainment may include watching the Aurora Borealis dance above an icy ocean horizon. Taking a cruise that visits Greenland also includes cruising through the Arctic Circle and the chance to photograph wildlife, including polar bears, walruses, whales, harp seals, arctic foxes, musk oxen, and reindeer. A 24-day route aboard Seaborn Quest departs from Reykjavik, Iceland, on August 6, 2019. Ocean view suite accommodations provide a vantage point from which to view fjord-like inlets and narrow passages to glowing blue icebergs and colorful fishing villages.

Last year, as was previously covered by our sister publication Travel Agent Central, Travel Leaders Network put the spotlight on more than 20 destinations. Singapore made the 2018 list as well with notes to its sights and architecture. Other possibilities included a helicopter sightseeing flight over the Okavango Delta and feasting on local cuisine during a city tour of Manila, Phillipines.
