Whether you call them trendsetters, disrupters, futurists or just gutsy dreamers, they always go in the opposite direction of the norm. In our business of travel intermediaries, they have been the successful ones, rising to the top. Before I go on, I know you all have been trendsetters over the last 15 years as you’ve all transformed your business from a model that was cut off at the legs with commission caps, technology and a bunch of bad press that alleged travel agents had gone out of business.
Today’s trendsetters make airline seats and poolside lounge chairs their virtual offices. They’ve never met some of their clients face to face. They work magic, pointing consumers hungry for great memories and a seamless vacation in all the right directions. They do the impossible and they make many, many people very, very happy.
Recently in our December issue, we highlighted some of these individuals with our Trendsetter cover story. This blockbuster issue received such positive feedback and set such a strong connection from one trendsetter to the next that we felt a need to gather these like-minded advisors together. You could say, “Not another conference?,” but I would say that Luxury Travel Advisor is a trendsetter and that we don’t do conferences just to do them. We see a gap in the marketplace and a need for a place to share knowledge and to create synergy and energy. Best part? As with all of our programming, our goal is to elevate all who convene with us to collaborate.
