Bella Guatemala Travel announced a 10-day Easter week tour package highlighting the people and heritage of Guatemala. With the tour package, guests will have guided access to the ceremonies at the annual Easter Week Processions. The Easter celebration in Antigua is the largest in the world and brings together locals and travelers by the masses. The celebration pays homage to Jesus and the Passion of Christ through processions with hand-carried floats, traditional music, and flower, plant, and colored sawdust ‘carpets’ created by locals.
On the 10-day tour, guests will hike through Tikal National Park, take a boat excursion on Lake Atitlan, visit various museums, and take a coffee plantation tour. The tour is guided by archaeologist and explorer, Jose Antonio Gonzalez and naturalist/environmentalist, Emilio Faillace. During the tour’s free time, travelers can shop at the Chichicastenango market and view the ruins of Spanish colonial churches.
Bella Guatemala Travel tour packages include luxury accommodations, three meals per day, internal flights and transportation, entrance fees, bilingual tour guides, and taxes and gratuities. All tours are comprised of small groups, with no more than 16 guests each.
The tour group’s next traditional festival tour is the Dia de los Muertos Giant Kite Festival tour in Guatemala from October 25 to November 4. The All Saints Day Giant Kite Festival in celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a 3,000-year-old tradition. The kites flown in the festival are believed to both communicate and honor lost loved ones.
The Easter Week tour in Guatemala takes place April 12 – April 22, 2017 and rates are based on double occupancy, plus $500 for single occupancy.
