Extraordinary Journeys Launches “Indonesia Family Adventure”

Extraordinary Journeys has launched “Indonesia Family Adventure,” a 12-day itinerary through Indonesia. As part of its recent launch into Indonesia, Extraordinary Journeys has designed this itinerary for families with children of all ages. It combines off-the-beaten-path destinations in Bali with a private charter on a phinisi to Komodo, plus wildlife encounters and cultural activities.

Here are a few itinerary highlights:

  • Arrival in Bali – After touching down in Denpasar and enjoying a private transfer to Nirjhara in Tabanan, guests can settle into a two-bedroom pool villa. They will spend the first morning at the resort before embarking on a scenic bike ride through tranquil villages, culminating with sunset views at a black sand beach.
  • Sustainable adventure – Families will discover an eco-village where bamboo innovations are shaping the future of sustainable living. Here, they can engage in hands-on activities and "learn how creative solutions can help preserve the planet."
  • Komodo Island boat adventure – Guests then embark on a four-day private charter boat trip aboard the Samara I, visit Kelor Island for snorkeling, meet Komodo dragons on Rinca Island and watch the sunset while sipping cocktails at Kalong Island as bats take flight. The next day, they will depart the boat to hike to a scenic viewpoint over crescent beaches on Padar Island. After snorkeling at Pink Beach, families can spend the afternoon exploring Komodo Island and encounter more wildlife, including Timor deer and buffalo. Another full day of adventure includes snorkeling with manta rays at Manta Point, and enjoying a scenic hike on the uninhabited Gili Lawa Island, offering views of beaches and the Sangeang Volcano.

  • Treasure hunt in Bali – Upon returning to Bali, families will discover the destination through a fun, educational treasure hunt in Sukahet Sari village, where children aged five to 12 years can follow clues, participate in cultural activities and enjoy a scenic lunch.
  • Culinary exploration in Sidemen Valley – Travelers will then pass through fields and plantations, stopping to meet local farmers and learn about ingredients essential to Balinese cuisine. They will prepare three traditional Balinese dishes using wood-fired ovens and learn your name in Balinese Sanskrit and write it on dried palm leaves, which were once used as manuscripts (lontar). Adults will also have an opportunity to sample locally distilled spirits.
  • Rafting adventure on the Telaga Waja River – Guests will then enjoy a thrilling, family-friendly rafting experience on the river; navigate narrow gorges, enjoy rice field vistas and conquer the final challenge—a descent down the Water Dam.

With expert guides, hands-on experiences and a careful balance of adventure and downtime, this journey offers a perfect mix of thrill and relaxation for multigenerational families. While the “Indonesia Family Adventure” is a perfect starting point for families interested in traveling to the destination, Extraordinary Journeys’ itineraries are custom-tailored for every family, ensuring a seamless and personalized adventure for every traveler.
