Ker & Downey Africa has launched a new “Five Senses” itinerary, which offers bespoke experiences, including the opportunity to stay on a private island. The new itinerary engages each sense through experiences that can be tailored to meet guests’ preferences. The getaway starts in Cape Town, South Africa, where guests will explore the city and winelands before heading inland to Hazyview for a safari experience. From there, they will embark on a journey to Madagascar.
The “Five Senses” itinerary includes:
- Sight – Stay at Ellerman House, a luxury hotel in Cape Town, offering views of the Atlantic Ocean and the opportunity to indulge in an art experience. The property’s in-house art gallery explores the vast social and cultural shift that South African art has made from the mid-19th century to the present. A private tour with the exhibition’s artists can be arranged upon request.
- Taste – Dine at La Colombe restaurant, which offers a fusion of French and Asian fine dining.
- Smell – Visit Babylonstoren, one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms set at the foot of Simonsberg in the Franschhoek wine valley. Smell the flowers and explore the fragrant citrus gardens. Babylonstoren is big on sustainability, with food and wine all sourced directly from the farm.
- Sound – Fly to Skukuza and enjoy a private transfer to Singita Ebony Lodge, set on the banks of the Sand River in South Africa. Enjoy a range of experiences, including safari walks, game drives, bird-watching and stargazing, enabling them to experience the sounds of the wilderness and the “Big Five.”
- Touch – Take a private helicopter charter to Miavana Island Nosy Ankoa, a remote private island resort in Madagascar. Visiting Miavana is an ideal way to experience the Indian Ocean, its white sand beaches and biodiversity. From Miavana, guests can also explore mainland Madagascar via helicopter.
Guests will be welcomed by a Ker & Downey Africa representative at each destination, enjoy private transfers, and have the option of traveling either via commercial airlines or by private jet.
