Boutique tour operator Luxo Italia unveiled its new Signature Tour, which provides travelers with an exclusive tour of famous Italian landmarks in Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Capri. Guests on this tour can anticipate behind-the-scenes tours of historic locations, private culinary experiences, helicopter transfers, luxury hotels and much more.
The tour begins in Rome, where a Mercedes-Benz S-Class chauffeurs guests to Vatican City for a guided tour of the Sistine Chapel. Guests are taken through the doors inaugurated for the 2000 Jubilee, into the Octagonal Courtyard to admire the Laocoon statue, and then moved into the ancient Gallery of the Candelabra and the Gallery of the Tapestries. After proceeding through Italy’s most comprehensive collection of maps from the 16th century, guests are given an opportunity for contemplation amid total silence and privacy in the Sistine Chapel. The tour concludes by going through the halls of the Vatican Library; all the while, providing a unique view of one of the most extensive art collections of the world, including Renaissance masterpieces by the likes of Michelangelo and Raphael.
Following, aperitifs are served at the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo—the Pope’s own summer residence—before a private dinner at Palazzo Colonna, a private palace built in 14th century Rome. When in Rome, guests will stay at the ultra-luxe Fendi Private suites in the heart of the city, which comes with an invitation to a private tour of the Palazzo Fendi, complete with fashion collectives and ever-changing art installations.
A luxury helicopter transfer from Rome to Amalfi heralds the second part of the tour. In Amalfi, guests will stay at the Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi for six nights. There, guests can board a sailing excursion along the Amalfi coast during sunset. Cocktails precede a unique dinner set along the sea, paired with an Italian wine tasting. During their stay in Amalfi, guests can go on day getaways to the architectural and historic sites of Ravello and Pompeii to visit the 11th century Villa Cimbrone and the cobbled streets of the Roman city preserved by the lava of Mount Vesuvius.
Also included is a private yacht cruise to Capri made special by lunch and a behind-the-scenes visit to both the mozzarella di bufala (buffalo mozzarella) and Limoncello factories. Spare time in Amalfi can be spent sightseeing the pastel-colored houses amid the craggy mountains or traveling down to the beaches.
The Signature Tour Experience from Luxo Italia begins at €55,000 (approximately $65,000) per couple.
