Travelers can go glamping north of the Arctic Circle with Off the Map Travel’s newest trip. This experience will take place on the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway, near the banks of a Norwegian fjord.
Guests will stay in an indigenous Sami tepee, known as a Lavvu, close to white sand beaches. Campers will experience long Arctic summer days with 24 hours of constant Midnight Sun in June and July and temperatures around 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
During the trip, guests will be brought to some of the area’s best fishing spots to catch dinner. Afterwards, they will take a wilderness cooking course with the camp’s chef and cook the fish they caught. Campers will also gather wild berries and herbs in order to make local dishes for a Scandinavian dinner.
The trip includes two nights of glam-camping, a Trollfjord and wildlife cruise, a goat farm visit, a visit to the Lofotr Viking Museum, kayaking opportunities and a fjords hike. The camp prides itself on its sustainable policies and if guests choose, they can participate in a beach clean-up and learn about the effect plastic has on the oceans.
Prices for this two-night, three-day glamping trip start just under $2,000 per person based on two adults traveling together on a full board basis.
