The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa has just launched a new wellness program with the Aviara Wellness Academy.
This program offers guests a compilation of multi-day retreats that connect the resort destination to custom health and wellness experiences. With the “academy,” guests will be able to choose from four options of curated retreats. These include the Next Wave of Surfing with the Chef, the Golf Academy, Tennis Camp or Vera Via.
The Surfing with the Chef Program launched last summer, but has now upgraded through the wellness academy as Surfing with the Chef 2.0. The Next Wave of Surfing with the Chef will now include the option to add an additional day for extra surf time, instructed by executive chef Pierre Albaladejo. A one- or two-day retreat, this program takes guests from the kitchen to the beach and the chef shares his two passions of cooking and surfing.
Day one begins with a morning in the kitchen preparing a personalized breakfast, followed by surf lessons at a Carlsbad beach and ending with a “toes in the sand meal” on the beach, prepared for guests by the chef. Day two includes a short drive along the Pacific Coast to San Clemente to visit the Noll Surfboard Workshop, owned by legendary surfer Greg Noll. Guests will be able to witness Noll’s luxury surfboards being made and will have the chance to collaborate, help design and commission their own customized board. They will then be able to purchase the board they designed themselves or purchase a board that was already available at the shop.
With the Golf Academy, guests complete a one- or two-day program to perfect their golf skills at South California’s premier golf school, Kip Puterbaugh Aviara Golf Academy. It is the longest running school in the western United States with over 100 years of golf-teaching experience. This program is fit for players of all ages and difficulty levels, who will get to experience the Gears Performance Lab and receive custom club fittings complete with a 3D motion analysis technology built with the same measurement technology used at NASA and MIT. Guests will also be provided a series of private lessons and education on golf myths and theories.
At Tennis Camp at the Park Hyatt Aviara – one of the top 50 tennis resorts worldwide – guests will be led by nationally-recognized tennis professional Steve Halverson in a one- or two-day program. Able to coach in English, Spanish, French and Indonesian and with experience teaching and playing in over 50 countries, Halverson will give guests two hours of private lessons. Guests will also receive unlimited use of the ball machine and court time with one hour guaranteed, along with the Tennis for Life book that they will be able to take home with them. With the “Bubbles & Doubles” add-on, guests can also be served champagne after their lesson, or the “Wimbledon Experience” of strawberries and cream.
Vera Via offers guests an abundance of outdoor activities on this one- or two-day retreat. Completely customized, this retreat will help guests meet their personal wellness goals and includes everything from guided meditation to nutritional seminars, hikes, one-on-one workout classes and more. This retreat takes on a holistic body-mind-spirit approach that will create lasting behavior and lifestyle change among those who participate, the press release said.
