The Vietage by Anantara has introduced a second railway carriage, which will operate a daily return journey between Nha Trang and Quy Nhon starting May 15, 2024. The new addition will connect the coastal city of Nha Trang, served by Cam Ranh International Airport, offering five-hour journeys through south-central Vietnam.
The carriage has just 12 reservation-only seats in private booths, coupled with windows to admire the views. A sit-up bar offers passengers the chance to enjoy rail-inspired cocktails and mocktails, while the spa area offers 15-minute head and shoulder treatments. The afternoon tea experience includes appetizers and a tea tower with a selection of home-made finger sandwiches, pastries, cakes and scones, alongside an artisanal cheese and charcuterie platter. A vegan menu is also available. Refreshments include a selection of local teas, ethically sourced local coffee, wines, cocktails, beers, mocktails and soft drinks. Additionally, an à la carte menu offers wines and champagnes for pre-order, while caviar fans can purchase extra portions onboard.
Guests can catch a glimpse of water buffalo, Vietnam’s national animal, as the train makes its way through the countryside. They can watch stretches of coastline fronting the East Sea and expansive bays before the train heads inland into the mountainous province of Phú Yên, which is home to Champa communities and historical sites. The route continues north through the province’s capital city of Tuy Hòa, Vietnam’s longest wooden bridge, the 2,624-foot Bình Thạnh Bridge, which serves as a gateway to notable landmarks.
Guests travelling from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon can enjoy beachside accommodation experiences with Anantara Quy Nhon Villas. They can also jump onboard The Vietage by Anantara running from Quy Nhon to Da Nang and explore Hoi An with a stay at Anantara Hoi An Resort.
The Vietage by Anantara departs from Nha Trang every afternoon arriving at Dieu Tri station in Quy Nhon in the evening. It then continues up to Da Nang arriving after midnight. Running in the opposite direction, The Vietage by Anantara’s additional carriage departs from Da Nang every morning, arriving at Dieu Tri station in Quy Nhon in the early afternoon and then onto Nha Trang for a mid-evening arrival.
Good to know: The Vietage by Anantara contributes $1 per ticket to the “Dollars for Deeds” program. Donations are given to The Kianh Foundation, a not-for-profit charity providing a full-time, customized, special needs curriculum for children with disabilities in the Quang Nam Province of Central Vietnam. Guests are also free to contribute to the cause.
