Air Tahiti Nui will launch nonstop service between Papeete (PPT) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on October 4, 2022. The twice-weekly route will operate from Papeete on Tuesday and Saturday, returning from Seattle on Wednesday and Sunday.
The airline will operate the twice-weekly route using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft with the following schedule: The flight between Papeete-Seattle departs at 10 p.m. and arrives at 10:25 a.m. (the next day). The flight between Seattle-Papeete departs at 12:25 p.m. and arrives at 7:30 p.m.
Air Tahiti Nui has partnered with Alaska Airlines for this new route, connecting the city of Seattle to the Islands of Tahiti, as part of a strategic development that offers the “Tiare” company enhanced access to the North American market, in particular the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. As a result of the partnership, Alaska Airlines’ customers will be able to earn or use their Mileage Plan miles when traveling with Air Tahiti Nui, while Air Tahiti Nui’s customers will be able to use their Club Tiare miles on Alaska Airlines’ network. Travelers arriving in Seattle from Tahiti will enjoy the soon-to-open new International Arrivals Facility at the airport.
Air Tahiti Nui’s Tahiti service is the sixth new international service to Seattle announced since 2020. Qatar-Doha, WestJet-Calgary, and Alaska-Belize City began service in 2021, while Air Canada-Montreal and Finnair-Helsinki will begin service in summer 2022.
