Cathay Pacific Reopens Redesigned Bridge Lounge at Hong Kong Airport

Cathay Pacific has reopened The Bridge, its lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) that officially re-opened its doors to guests today. Located near Departure Gate 35 at HKIA’s Terminal 1, The Bridge has been redesigned with a host of new features as well as familiar favorites to provide customers with an elevated experience before their flights.

The reopening of The Bridge marks the first stage in Cathay Pacific’s wider lounge enhancement plan in Hong Kong and beyond. It comes as the airline prepares for the renovation of The Wing, First, which will close on May 23 and reopen in 2026, followed by The Wing, Business at its Hong Kong hub, ensuring that customers continue to enjoy a premium lounge experience during the renovation of these lounges.

Another of the airline’s business class lounges, The Deck, is also being enhanced. From May 21, The Deck will serve as an interim first class lounge during the renovation of The Wing. Eligible customers can also continue visiting The Pier, First and The Pier, Business during this time.

Over the next two years, Cathay Pacific will be launching new flagship lounges in Hong Kong, Beijing and, for the very first time, New York as part of the Cathay Group’s over HK$100 billion (approximately $13 billion) investment into new aircraft, cabin products, lounges and digital innovations.

To provide a streamlined check-in process, The Bridge will soon be the first Cathay Pacific lounge that adopts a biometric check-in system, complemented by a traditional check-in desk.

The Bridge is divided into two zones. On the left-hand side is Cathay Pacific’s Noodle Bar as well as rotating menus featuring a range of Chinese dishes. Additionally, this side features The Nook, a brand-new concept for Cathay Pacific’s lounges, offering a curation of Chinese regional small plates and light bites, such as savory filled bao, crispy scallion pancakes, a selection of dim sum, and more.

The right-hand side is reserved for first class customers and Cathay Diamond members. This side of the lounge also features a Food Hall, showcasing an oven-to-plate concept. The menu offers Provencal vegetable bakes, pastries, salads, desserts, and more. It also includes The Bar, where customers can enjoy cocktails, coffees or champagne along with views of the runway. Additionally, the relaxation area is outfitted with the airline’s bespoke Solo Chairs, offering customers an elevated lounge experience.
