Cathay Pacific is elevating its travel experience. We love that the new First Class service begins as soon as passengers enter the cabin in the form of a welcome reception tray with a personalized welcome note, a hot towel and a glass of sparkling jasmine silver needle tea from JING.
First Class customers receive a 600-thread-count, sustainably sourced cotton mattress and duvet, a full-size pillow and branded male and female amenity kits. As for dining, Cathay Pacific now has lighter options, such as superfood bowls. Teas from JING and cold-pressed juices from Bless are available, as well. Cathay Pacific also recently updated its Business Class, while expanding its in-flight entertainment options.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) is rolling out redesigned Boeing 777-300ER aircraft — the highlight of which are the new First Class seats, dubbed “The Suite.” New features are a 43-inch monitor — the world’s first 4K personal monitor on a commercial airliner — and a movable partition, which can be adjusted upon request to pair seats. In both First Class and Business Class, ANA will be providing bespoke seat mattress and bedding by Nishikawa.
ANA also updated its Premium Economy and Economy Class seating, in-flight entertainment system, dining, bedding and tech (think: lighting for sleeping, reading and dining). We like that all Business Class passengers can pre-order their meals online before departure and can choose from menus from other routes.
Launched November 1, United Airlines now offers Polaris customers on flights between Newark Liberty International Airport and Heathrow Airport complimentary baggage delivery to five Marriott International properties, allowing travelers to start their London journey the moment they clear customs. United’s new baggage delivery coincides with the airline operating its newly reconfigured Boeing 767-300ER on the route (the aircraft has an extended cabin with 16 additional business seats).
Participating properties are the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, London Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf, London Marriott Hotel County Hall, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane and St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London. Good to know: Customers don’t need to pre-register for the service.
