Private aviation company Latitude 33 has debuted a brand-new West Coast Safari on a private jet. Beginning and ending in California, this customizable journey is an opportunity for travelers to enjoy landscapes and the bounties of North America’s westernmost region by way of a private aircraft for up to nine passengers.
Abundant outdoor adventure, fully catered in-flight service, accommodations and coveted sights and experiences are all part of the multi-destination "safari." Passengers will be escorted through a route of the West Coast destinations, including San Diego, Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Napa Valley, Jackson Hole, British Colombia and Los Cabos, with additional stops to Hawaii available in 2020. Each stop offers the opportunity to explore the native landscape with experiences unique to their destination, from a drive up CA’s Highway 1 culminating with hilltop gourmet picnic in Big Sur to sipping Napa’s varietals in a vineyard setting or sailing through the American Riviera. Pricing starts at $150,000 for four passengers on a Bombardier Challenger. Passengers have the option to fully customize or expand their journey with additional or alternative stops.
Santa Barbara, CA
Depart from Orange County’s Santa Ana, LA’s Van Nuys or Palomar Airport, where travelers will commence their west coast safari. While, onboard travelers can enjoy the first Pacific coastal views of the journey as they jet to American Riviera, Santa Barbara. Upon landing in the Mediterranean-inspired seaside town, travelers will be transported by car to the Santa Ynez wine country for a private wine tasting paired with gourmet charcuterie in the villa at Sunstone winery. The trip will include a stay at Belmond El Encanto, a hilltop California hideaway. A highlight can include a private sunset yoga session at the hotel’s Lily Pond or a massage in the boutique spa. Additionally, travelers can also participate on a sailboat tour and see the Santa Ynez Mountain range or practice divot stomping at a Polo Match at the Santa Barbara Polo Fields as apart of the excursion.
Big Sur, CA
Travelers will be escorted via helicopter to nearby San Luis Obispo. A highlight will include a private tour of Hearst Castle and getting behind the wheel of a vehicle and take the California drive up Highway 1. Travelers can stop in Big Sur to experience one of the region’s hiking trails or opt for a professional photography session or watercolor painting lesson. Napa Valley, CA
Soar over the San Francisco as travelers arrive in Napa Valley where they'll spend the day tasting some of California’s wines with one of the Valley’s sommeliers. Excursions can include forested bungalow at Meadowood Napa Valley or spending an afternoon at the spa in St. Helena. Travelers can experience an onsite private cooking class with Meadowood’s estate chefs paired with wines from neighboring vineyards. As well, guests can explore the valley further on a cycling tour or soaring through the valley on a hot air balloon.
Jackson Hole, WY
From wine country to backcountry, travelers will arrive in Jackson Hole at the start of the trip. They will then check into Caldera House, a suites-only boutique property set at the base of the mountain in Teton Village. The safari will include a day at the Diamond Cross Ranch for horseback riding and to work as a ranch hand for bonafide cowboys and partake in a horse whispering demonstration with local Grant Golliher. Travelers can spend the following day on the river with a private fly fishing excursion and then settle back into their suite for a private chef’s dinner comprising locally sourced ingredients, craft cocktails or wine.
British Colombia, Canada
Travelers can venture North to British Colombia, Canada , and experience a float plane while being escorted to a remote hot spring, paddle out with a local Olympian surfer, and embark on bear watching tour by boat with the local legend.A region’s locally-sourced, cuisine prepared using indigenous ingredients will be included. Travelers will stay in oceanfront suite at The Wickinannish Inn for the duration of their stay.
Los Cabos, Mexico
Next, travelers can jet down to the Los Cabos and reside at The Resort at Pedegral during the duration of their stay. Travel experiences will range from swimming with whale sharks, paddle boarding alongside sea lions and yoga and brunch at sea on a yacht. Back at the resort, travelers can experience the resort's private plunge pool or simply enjoy the beach.
San Diego, CA
Ending at the excursion at Southern California’s, Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa, travelers can personalize their own adventure to complete the trip with more adventure or with the goal of full rejuvenation. Travelers can spend an afternoon at the hotel's spa, opt for a round of golf at Torrey Pines or a private tour at the San Diego Zoo, followed by a tequila tasting and dinner in the hidden wine cave back at the hotel. Or, cheer on the thoroughbreds and jockeys at the Del Mar Racetrack from the director’s room or directly from the turf. In addition, travelers will have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the stables, where Seabiscuit, California Chrome, and other horses prepped for big wins at the 80-year-old track.

Beginning in 2020, an additional flight excursion includes check into the Lodge at Kukui’ula, on Kauai’s South Shore. A highlight of the experience include teeing off at the 18-Hole Tom Weiskopf–designed golf course; exploring the 10-acre Upcountry farm & lake as well as a relaxation time on the Sunset Lanai clubhouse. Travelers can also spend a day at sea as they embark on the Mahealani, Kukui'ula's very own 32′ Yellowfin boat for customized half- and full-day excursions or for a more relaxing voyage, a 2-hour sunset cruise. For the final day, travelers can spend time at the spa and enjoy a private sunset dinner paired with wine and cocktails.
