Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced the resumption of daily flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) starting March 28, 2022, operating with nonstop service to Singapore. With this restoration, SIA expands to serve the New York metro area with three daily flights, including nonstop flights from Newark and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Singapore, and A380 service from JFK operating to Singapore via Frankfurt. SIA will now operate the world’s two longest flights—each approximately 18 hours and 45 minutes nonstop— from the New York City area.
According to Joey Seow, regional VP – Americas for Singapore Airlines, with the relaunch of the Newark-Singapore flights, SIA will have restored operations to each of its six U.S. gateway markets, besides debuting a new, seasonal service from Vancouver to Singapore.
SIA’s roster of North American points now includes New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA) and Vancouver (YVR).
The airline will deploy its A350-900 Ultra-Long-Range aircraft configured with 161 seats in two cabins: 67 in business class and 94 in premium economy class. Business class seats feature: a 1-2-1 layout, with direct aisle access for all passengers, and convert to a flat bed with pillows and linens; personal care kits; in-seat power sources; and access to over 1,000 on-demand entertainment options. The premium economy cabin is arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration and features a range of amenities including noise-cancellation headphones, oversized personal entertainment monitors at each seat, multiple power sources, expanded seat recline, a leg-rest/foot-rest combination and enhanced personal stowage.
