Starting in September 2017, inflight meals on TAP Portugal flights will include a creation from one of five Michelin-starred chefs. The chosen chefs, along with TAP's cuisine consultant chef Vitor Sobral, will introduce the 'Taste the Stars" program, designed to further enhance the customer travel experience and to share Portuguese flavors.
The five Michelin-starred chefs are Henrique Sa Pessoa, Jose Avillez, Miguel Laffan, Rui Paula, Rui Silvestre.
In addition to creating meals for TAP passengers, the program will promote new Portuguese cooking talents. The chefs will reinvent the use of several regional products and participate in international TAP cooking events. Further, the Michelin chefs’ restaurants will now be a part of TAP's "Portugal Stopover" program, which provides complimentary bottles of wine for travelers who visit Lisbon or Porto en route to destinations throughout Europe and Africa.
As part of the "Taste the Stars" program, TAP will also offer a platform to young chefs who will have the opportunity to present their creations and suggestions as part of the inflight service.
TAP Portugal is currently offering round-trip flights from New York to Lisbon from $541 or to Porto from $535.
