Crane Resorts, Barbados’ developer and operator behind the Crane Resort, has announced a new chapter with the transformation of its second luxury development, formerly known as Beach Houses, now rebranded as East Resort.
A secluded, low-density eco-luxury villa resort community, East Resort is located on the East Coast of Barbados, overlooking Skeete’s Bay Beach and Culpepper Island. The community is designed to accentuate the property’s exclusive location on the 1 percent of the East Coast that remains outside of Barbados’ protected National Park. The East Coast has limestone cliffs and beaches, "making it a haven for those seeking restoration in nature," according to Crane Resorts.
Following the Phase I opening of 10 cliff-front Villas in November 2020, East Resort has announced that pre-construction sales for Phase II will commence this winter. On completion, this phase will see the addition of a farm-to-table café and 20 new, semi-detached one- and two-bedroom Hillside Villas. East Resort is also introducing The Culpepper Collection, offering 12 land lots overlooking the bay of Culpepper Island. These lots offer buyers a canvas for bespoke builds, choosing from the developer’s library of three- and four-bedroom villa plans, and working with an in-house team of architects and builders to customize to individual tastes.
The community’s terraced, single-story design ensures minimal landscape displacement, with villa footprints cleverly placed on “green roofs” that maintain clear sightlines as the development recedes. Beyond esthetics, these “green roofs” mitigate each villa’s heating loads, reducing A/C and power consumption.
Each villa will have open-plan spaces, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and 180-degree ocean views. Other sustainable features include LED lighting, water-efficient kitchen and bathroom fixtures, rainwater collection and wastewater treatment for irrigation. Each villa will also have nested BBQ grills, an infinity-edge private pool and hot tub. Secluded patios and gardens provide tranquil escapes and “no tan-lines” levels of privacy.
East Resort offers owners and guests access to the amenities and services of The Crane Resort and dining delivery from its restaurants. As the community reaches completion, it will also offer a diverse range of on-site resort amenities, such as an organic greenhouse, a farm-to-table café, a destination spa, a rooftop restaurant and bar, a fitness center, tennis courts, hiking trails, yoga and more.
