Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has announced the opening of four new destination management companies (DMCs) in Colombia, Namibia, Saudi Arabia and Canada.
A&K’s most recent DMC opening was the USA, focused on the American West and Alaska. The company has offices worldwide, including Kenya, Egypt, Thailand, Brazil and beyond, with operations on all seven continents and a staff of almost 2,500. The company has three outbound tour operating businesses in North America, Europe and Australasia.
A&K is dedicated to positively impacting lives and livelihoods in the places where its guests travel. Through Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), A&K’s local offices support community partners making a difference in education, health care, conservation and enterprise development, projects that benefit more than 125,000 men, women and children each year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, AKP worked with non-governmental organizations to deliver more than two million dollars in medical supplies and emergency relief to people whose livelihoods depend on wildlife and heritage tourism.
In all, A&K has more than 55 offices in over 30 countries. Headquartered in London, the company celebrated its 60th anniversary this year. It was founded by Geoffrey Kent and his parents in Kenya in 1962 as a luxury safari outfitter with the philosophy of “shoot with a camera, not with a gun.”
