Embark Beyond has announced the addition of Anne Scully as partner of agent development, bringing with her 40 years of experience.
“Anne is a true icon in the luxury travel business and has been a mentor of mine for many years,” said Jack Ezon, founder and managing partner of Embark Beyond, in a press announcement. “Embark is built on three pillars—marketing, technology and training—and so it was a no-brainer when Anne Scully agreed to join our team. Her skill in cultivating talent aligns perfectly with our commitment to training.”
During her career, Scully has been given such honors as being named Chairman of the Virtuoso Travel Academy and does trainings each year at Virtuoso Travel Week. She is also the godmother of the Viking Ingvi, a Viking River Cruise ship. Luxury cruise lines and top hotel brands regularly seek Anne for training and as a keynote speaker, Embark adds.
Anne values her long-standing travel partner relationships that are the cornerstone to her success. “I feel strongly that becoming a travel advisor is a very viable career path and extraordinary opportunity,” said Scully. “I wanted to find an organization where this concept would be supported. This position with Embark is an opportunity for me to have great impact on fellow professionals. I am very excited and honored to bring my training and development expertise to such a community.”
Embark Beyond’s independent contractor (IC) program, Embark Collective, has grown greatly in 2020, and Scully’s appointment brings an elevated value to each and every one of Embark’s advisors, according to the agency.
As partner of agent development, Anne will oversee Embark Academy, Embark’s training and development program. Embark Academy has a clear curriculum of continuing education for everyone in the company, including its management team. Scully will work one-on-one with each associate at Embark to focus on career development and to build and support annual business, marketing plans and frontline transactional skills.
Embark Academy, according to Ezon, is built on the premise that advisor knowledge and expertise will be critical to survival as artificial intelligence makes digital buying more and more relevant. “Hard training” components include deep dives into destinations and products like selling private jets or learning how to issue an airline ticket in the GDS. Every training focuses on the client, positioning all supply options and booking channels and teaching advisors how to pair the best product for a particular client. Embark’s “soft trainings” are all about non-travel skills, such as selling, anticipating needs, hospitality, critical thinking and more.
