InteleTravel's meetings and events business, MGME, has acquired Key Meetings & Events, a full-service San Francisco agency with more than 35 years of experience serving corporate, association and private equity clients. The transaction will double MGME's revenue and team size, and it is the first acquisition MGME has made since InteleTravel bought the agency in 2024.
Terms were not disclosed.
Key founder Heather Keenan joins MGME's senior leadership team as executive director. Her agency plans and delivers executive meetings, investor events, conferences, annual meetings and incentive programs across North America and internationally, with particular depth among private equity firms and their portfolio companies, along with corporate clients in financial services and technology. Key manages more than 40 events a year.
The agency will keep its name and operate as Key Meetings & Events, an MGME Company. Existing clients will continue working with the same team.
"InteleTravel continues to grow far beyond its roots as the world's first and largest host travel agency, and acquisitions have played an important role in that evolution," said James R. Ferrara, co-founder and CEO of InteleTravel. "MGME's acquisition of Key Meetings & Events reflects how we're building the InteleTravel enterprise by bringing together businesses with distinct expertise across the travel industry. Each addition strengthens what we can offer across the group, extends our reach and creates new opportunities for growth."
MGME, headquartered in New York City and British Columbia, brings hotel sourcing, air travel management, creative services, event production and technology to the combination, with a footprint spanning more than 70 countries. The agency produces roughly 1,000 events and conferences a year, representing about $500 million in annual spending.
"Key Meetings & Events brings deep experience and client relationships in sectors that complement our business," said Carvie Gillikin, president and CEO of MGME. "Together, we can offer clients more while preserving the high-touch approach and trusted relationships that have defined both organizations. We're bringing together the strengths of two exceptional teams and creating new opportunities for our clients and our people."
Keenan framed the sale around continuity. "What we've built at Key Meetings & Events over more than 35 years is rooted in an extraordinary team, strong client relationships and a commitment to doing great work," she said. "MGME shares that commitment and brings strengths that complement our own. Together, we're expanding what we can offer clients while preserving the people, relationships and high-touch approach that have always defined Key Meetings & Events."
The purchase extends an acquisition run at InteleTravel that already includes Hickory Global Partners, MGME, Major Travel and Tickitto, alongside the launch of BusinessTravel.com. InteleTravel bought Hickory in 2023 and MGME the following year, positioning the group across leisure, corporate travel, meetings and events.
