Largay Travel's Vision Conference 2023 recently concluded in Southbridge, MA at the Southbridge Hotel & Conference Center. “This event was designed to dig deep into the core meaning of why we do what we do, bringing together our team of travel professionals and suppliers from around the world to embark on a journey not only of best shared practices and business strategies but also self-discovery and personal growth” said Paul Largay, chief culture curator at Largay Travel.
The event began with professional development sessions that highlighted the latest travel trends and ways of using assistance from the services and technology Largay Travel provides to enhance attendees’ personal and work lives. Topics such as the rise of sustainable and regenerative travel in travelers decision making, the changing ways in which clients are looking to be communicated to and inspired as well as the new important metrics and strategies needed to help measure success provided valuable takeaways.
At the events general session Largay Travel’s President Amanda Klimak gave a recap on everything that Largay Travel had accomplished over the past year and recognized staff members with awards for their company core values. Largay Travel’s leadership team joined Klimak to recognize their most engaged travel supplier of the year, most engaged advisor of the year, top producers of the year and concluded with a special award called the “Spirit of Life” award in memory of their industry colleague and friend John Migliori.
The conference also included Slumber Showcase, a networking event that showcases Largay’s top hotelier partners. This year, Largay came up with a new fun way for travel advisors and the hoteliers to interact with each other by creating a customized bingo card with boxes for each of the properties to stamp as they visited their tables, which assured the hotel companies they would get to meet each of the advisors. Once the advisor had filled their entire bingo card they could submit it to one of Largay Travel’s staff members to be eligible for the prizes at the conclusion of the evening. The night concluded with the graduation ceremony of Largay Travel’s 2023 Mentoring Class.
During the next two days of the Vision Retreat, Largay Travel hosted the “Globetrotting” event where travel advisors are matched with each other based on their experience level and travel together in 12-minute speed dating increments to take a trip around the world with top travel suppliers to learn about the latest in destinations and experiences to tell their clients about followed by a fun networking night with a private event and game night at Treehouse Brewing in Charlton, MA.
That night, when attendees returned to the hotel, Largay Travel surprised them with a nighttime Storytelling Under the Stars event sponsored by Celebrity Cruises and Forbes Travel Guide which featured Largay Travel’s Chief Culture Curator Paul Largay as the storybook moderator and interviewer of his three guests Dennis Pinto, managing director at Micato Safaris; Ashish Sanghrajka, president of Big Five Tours & Expeditions; and Scott Largay, director of marketing at Largay Travel.
The Vision Retreat concluded with a grand finale gala dinner costume party hosted at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA, sponsored by Tauck.
“The 2023 Largay Travel Vision Conference is not just an event; it’s an immersive experience,” said Klimak. “We’re excited to have the opportunity and privilege of providing a platform where professionals can dive deep into the ‘why’ of the travel industry and their own, connect on a deeper more human level, and prepare for the exciting shared future ahead.”
