Virtuoso hosted its inaugural Virtuoso Advance event October 11–13 at the Fairmont Hotel in Austin, TX, where 30 of the network’s seasoned advisors met for three days of learning and career advancement. The pilot event was open to graduates of the Virtuoso Certified Travel Advisor (VCTA) program as well as top producers from Virtuoso Communities who specialize in the travel areas of adventure, cruise, culinary, family and celebration, sustainability, ultra-luxe and wellness.
Virtuoso Advance 2023 included various workshops, ideation sessions and discussions focused on how advisors can best use their time and finances to directly influence their success. Key sessions included an interactive presentation by Helen Nodland, Virtuoso’s director of training and professional development. Nodland’s presentation, “Keeping Your Eye on Your Why,” encouraged advisors to stay engaged in the fundamentals they brought to the industry at the start of their careers. Additional sessions included a workshop labeled “If Time is Money, What is Your Account Balance?” led by Ellen Burton, keynote speaker, executive career coach and international business lecturer; and a conversation on financial fluency focusing on profitability and efficiency in running a travel business, led by Jennifer Campbell, Virtuoso’s senior vice president, network products and events. Attendees could also choose to attend a variety of targeted sessions with topics including branding, best social media practices, technology and future-proofing business plans.
“Staying ahead of the curve is the key to success in an industry that evolves as quickly as ours, and we were excited to present a dedicated event for our most accomplished advisors,” said Campbell. “It was inspiring to see these seasoned professionals gather for the common goal of career growth and development, proving that no matter how long you’ve been in this industry, there is always room for learning and advancement. We look forward to incorporating Virtuoso Advance into our annual events calendar.”
