Italy’s Villa d’Este will remain open until January 6, 2024 for the second straight year. The hotel will showcase Christmas décor created by floral designer Vincenzo Dascanio. Santa Claus (Babbo Natale) will also visit the hotel this year. Family friendly cooking classes, festive decoration workshops and other holiday experiences await.
What to expect: A special lighting ceremony will take place on December 1 alongside the opening of the Greenhouse, complete with lake views, crafted entirely in glass. This lounge is designed for all-day relaxation on winter days over afternoon tea, evening aperitifs, perhaps with a caviar selection or live music nights. Also starting on December 1, a new Chocolate Room will be set up with everyone’s favorite treat and house-made cakes and cookies, with the chance to savor cups of tea or coffee served with desserts, pralines and even a slice of Villa d’Este’s signature artisanal panettone baked by Pastry Chef Fabrizio Bertola.
Executive Chef Michele Zambanini has designed a range of fanciful menus, including Italian holiday classics and gourmet dishes. Special menus and entertainment will be provided at all festive meals:
- Christmas Eve Dinner, four-courses
- Christmas Day Lunch, five-courses, including wine pairings
- New Year’s Eve Dinner, Fireworks and After Party, including wine pairings
- New Year’s Day Brunch, with wine/cocktail package
Villa d’Este has 152 guestrooms and suites. In addition, the four private villas are ideal for guests who wish to enjoy privacy while enjoying all services offered by the hotel. Three of them, Villa Cima, Villa Malakoff and Villa Garrovo, are ideal for families and friends; the Mosaic House is a romantic hideaway for couples.
