The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, MT has rolled out its lineup of culinary events for this year. The stage is set with a range of culinary acts fixed against a "private national park" backdrop, kicking off with the annual “WinterFest” event over President’s Day Weekend, and closing out the spring season with Montana Master Grillers over Memorial Day Weekend.
“WinterFest” (February 17–20) will showcase Chef Brooke Williamson, Chef Stephanie Izard and Chef Annie Pettry as they spend a weekend snowmobiling through the 37,000-acre property and rustling up delectable feasts. Dining is paired with beverages from independent wineries and distilleries, including Hazelfern Cellars and its owners Bryan and Laura Laing, Ninkasi Brewing, and Montana’s own Montgomery Distillery. Guests will dine in rustic-inspired spaces and enjoy evenings of s’mores and entertainment.
“Chef Sunny and Friends” (March 3–5) will highlight Paws Up’s Senior Executive Chef Sunny Jin and his former kitchen buddies: Chef Shota Nakajima of Seattle’s Taku; Chef Jason Dady of San Antonio’s Range, Jardin, Tre Trattoria and Two Bros BBQ Market; and James Beard Award-winning couple Greg and Gabriela Quinonz Denton of Portland, Oregon’s OX. As they challenge each other in a friendly oven match, guests can spend a weekend with exciting activities during the days, such as hitting the trails on ATV, horseback or snowmobile, and enjoying concoctions at night.
“The Wonder Women of Food and Wine” (April 28–30) will spotlight several chefs, with specialties from pasta-making to baking, and even a "veggie whisperer." The lineup includes James Beard Award nominee Chef Krystle Swenson; pasta-making legend Chef Silvia Barban; Chef Charleen Badman of Scottsdale, AZ’s FnB; and Chef Elizabeth Falkner of San Francisco’s Citizen Cake and Orson. The weekend includes wine tastings with Vanessa Wong of Peay Vineyards, fine dining and entertainment.
Guests can kick off Memorial Day weekend with “Montana Master Grillers” (May 26–29) with sizzling delights from Texas’ pitmasters including Chef Leonard Botello IV, Chef Evan LeRoy, Chef Wayne Mueller, and husband-and-wife team Chef Patrick Feges and Chef Erin Smith. Montana’s Chef Sheldon Mason will also be making an appearance, along with Oregon-based vintner Ken Wright of Ken Wright Cellars. This signature barbecue celebration offers a ranch-to-table get-together, along with the latest seasonal activities.
